Our Future Outlook
Angelwood needs its own place . . . .
. . .because space equates to the growth of current programs, the creation of critically important new programs that reach out to both children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families, and the stability of living in one’s own “house.â€

Building. . .$1,500,000 is required to purchase a building to permanently house Angelwood programs, outreach initiatives and administrative staff. The goal is to acquire a building that is centrally located along the 9A corridor, easily accessible from all areas of the community. And, having all of Angelwood’s programs and activities in one location will allow for operating efficiencies that currently don’t exist.
Renovation and Endowment. . .An additional $3,100,000 is required to renovate the building, making it compatible for current program requirements and future space needs. Also, Angelwood will use a portion of these funds to start an endowment that will partially support future funding needs.
Group Home. . .A new group home at the Beaches will require $400,000 for purchase, renovation and costs associated with start-up.
How You Can Help
Why should you care? Because our community as a whole suffers when some of its citizens are forced to live on the margins of society, where the care and support they need is not available or is not accessible to all who need and want it.
People with developmental disabilities and their families cannot make it on their own. They must rely on knowledgeable professionals in organizations like Angelwood to help.
Your support is a critical piece of the effort to bring people with developmental disabilities and their families fully into our community.
